Book: Resonate

Resonate: Present Visual Stories that Transform Audiences (John Wiley and Sons, 2010)

I own and have read lots of great books on public speaking and presenting (you can find some of them listed at the bottom of the Learning Store page), but I have to give a special shout out to two books from Nancy Duarte, they are titled Resonate (in the post title above) and Slideology.

Both of her books are chock full of valuable insights on their respective topics, but they are also beautifully designed books. Both have had a very positive impact on my presentations and on my speaking career.

For engineers who are looking for an outstanding resource to help them improve their public speaking skills by crafting powerful and visual stories, Resonate is at the top of my list. It’s the primary one I recommended to this engineer who was preparing to deliver a presentation to his company’s CEO.

Note: The interactive iBook version of Resonate provides a rich reading and learning experience. I really enjoyed reading it on my iPad. Plus, it’s FREE! How cool is that?
